This Saturday, 9 November 2013, my roller derby league, the Cape Town Rollergirls, is taking part in the very first Rockabilly Festival in South Africa! The Dusty Rebels and the Bombshells comprises a crew of rockabilly lovers and legends that are here to introduce this culture to South Africa by bring all things rockabilly together at this event!

Maria and Zigi, head honchos of this rockabilly event were recently on Expresso Show on SABC3 – you can see the clip here. Expect Hot Rods, custom bikes, enchanting burlesque dancers, a fun game set up by the Cape Town Rollergirls, epic rockabilly bands, food, fashion, dirt-tracking by Dickies Dirt Track and an all-round retro flavor at this Rockabilly Festival in Cape Town.

The Rockabilly Festival is happening at Cape Town Ostrich Ranch on the N7. Find out more about the event on these channels:

Hi, my daughter got the opportunity to taste Sesame paste. Vegetarian noodles (similar to 2 min noodles) and fell in love with them. Do you know of a Taiwan food store in johannesburg that I could buy them from.

    Thank you

Hi Rene, I believe this is the recipe you’re looking for http://www.butterfingers.co.za/taiwanese-cold-noodles-%E6%B6%BC%E9%BA%B5-liang-mian 🙂 Chinese Sesame paste is a very popular ingredient in Asian cuisine, so you’ll find it at any Asian supermarket, Chinese, Taiwanese, Thai, Japanese or Korean. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to point out a store for you as I’m Cape Town-based, and I don’t really know Johannesburg well. I hope you find it!
